Go out there and love

For the most part I believe I have a helpers nature. I'm a lover not a fighter. Some may argue that it’s an enablers nature but I disagree. I was reading the Word this morning and thought this would be good for all of us. A little thought to remind us that we don’t always have to struggle with being the one in control of others or being the one who’s the boss & has the power.
Galatians 5:13-15
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather, serve on another in love.
Now listen to this next part hear it with both ears and don’t let it sneak out keep it in there and ponder it….
The entire law (not some it but the entire law that’s a lot of law) is summed up in a single command; “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (do you got it going on? Can you say you love others just like you love yourself?)
Then it goes on to say the human nature of it all…
If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
Serving each other is another way of expressing God’s love. It means freely undertaking any task necessary or helpful to someone’s spiritual, emotional or physical well being.
Show some love and understanding. Show some empathy, bear some ones burden, comfort someone. Get out of your zone, think out of the box, what can you do for your neighbour meaning anyone in your circle in need. Make His love tangible.
You can also show His love by Submitting to one another as found in Eph. 5:21. I realize that I may have just lost of few using the S word. I know it’s a hot button topic to most and you’re not alone it is for me too.
However I’m not meaning OBEDIENCE which would be demanded of you or that you would be bullied into doing what is wanted or expected of you. Contrary submission is basically: Being adaptable to each other in working out decisions, solutions to problems and in accepting instructions. When your motive is right and you have a strong self worth you desire to serve. Not out of a sense of fear or a slavish desire to please.
And when you are serving people through Christ it shouldn’t come off as fake, phony, lovey, dovey barf bag kindness. But reflect the character of Christ that is very contrary to our Human Nature. Philippians 2:6-7 tells us this….who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. So my challenge to myself and to all you who may read it. Go out there and sum up the law LOVE unconditionally, serve and submit in doing so you don’t know how many people lives you will touch and change by showing love God’s way.
