No Pain No Gain

So I guess I’ve decided to actually get off my rear and start a life style change…. I’m going to get rid of the junk and just do Canada’s Food guide and get a little more motivated with the working out thing. Brad has the working out thing down pat, me not so much!. I have never ever been one to stick to working out. Perhaps I’ll attempt to get the kids involved as well. You see 9 times out of 10 when Josiah (my 13yr old) finishes supper he puts his plate in the sink walks over to the pantry and says can I have some chips? I don’t think it’s that he is hungry and really needs chips but it’s a bad habit he has gotten into. All three of my children are carbohydrate junkies and Brooklynn and Jonathan LOVE anything that is sweeeeeet! When I moved to Sussex Corner October 2009 I had intentions to have treat night on Friday night but it seems to have become an every night of the week occurrence. I don’t even want to talk about my Pepsi addiction. My mom often buys the kids cookies and treats which is normal for Grandma’s to do but I think I may request that she starts buying them fruit instead. I would like to lose 40 pounds. I don’t like my baby belly considering the last baby I physically had was over 10 years ago. I know the 40 pounds I want to say good bye to will not be that willing to bid me farewell so I have some work ahead of me. My best friend Rhonda and I have intentions of walking twice a week. Our last walk had a lot of crazy dogs trying to attack us so we are changing from walking on her road to walking in town. I do Pilates but not like I used to. So I’m going to make the effort to have a healthier life style not just for me but the whole gang. Why not….it can’t hurt right….well it might for awhile. As they say… no pain no gain!

Jennifer McKiel Lewis I'm trying to change too. Man it's hard to change habits. About 9pm or so after everybody goes to bed, I treat myself. Well I'll have to start treating myself to celery and carrots I guess!

Linda Marlene Klassen I was wondering if we should post our favorite low calorie treat??? get some ideas??/

Michelle Carmichael Thanks Deanne! I can relate Jennifer Pepsi, Lindor chocolate & regular potato chips are my fav! That is a good idea Linda...so if anyone has some yummy 100 calories or less treat ideas...please tell us!

Michelle Carmichael I'm going to go by the food for life plan just because it's Canada's food guide, not unreasonable and is just stuff that you have in your house.

Linda Marlene Klassen My go to diet food is.. sliced english cucumbers. arrange on a big plate, top with a mixture of.. good white tuna, some peach yogart, and some shredded cheddar cheese , just enough of each to make a dip ..kind of, then put on top of cucumbers,, doesn't sound to great, but very low in calories. and ingredients .. and makes as much as you want. i actually love the taste. and fills you up!!

Michelle Carmichael Wow that sounds really interesting...not a combination I would dream up on my own.

Linda Marlene Klassen lol.. no me either, dont know where i found the idea, but i have been making it for years, when i need to eat lightly for a few days.

Oh wow Michelle, you are gonna loose weight, and I so look forward to hearing about every pound and inch in detail, and lets not forget to get every morsel of food you have ever eaten and every twitch of movement that can be considered exercise. Oh back off the rest of you, she knows the exact tone in my voice when I say that. :))))))))

Michelle Carmichael I knew you would be pleased! I expected to hear from you!
