Josiah my oldest boy had hernia surgery. He made out very well! He appears to be doing pretty good with the pain level. He is 14 and almost 6 feet but when you see him laying there going for surgery he is your baby you just had yesterday! As I'm sure you parents out there understand! So he was under for an hour and the doctor said it was very large but he should do fine. He recovered for a little over an hour and then we were off to fill a prescription for Tylenol 2s and home. I’m glad he didn’t have to stay in the hospital any amount of time!!! I do not love the hospital these days! It appears to be a weakness in him from birth and he may later in life get another one on the other side. He just has to keep watch and be careful I guess. He slept most of the day yesterday and was up before me this morning. He goes back to Doctor Brian Philips in a few weeks for a check up to see how he made out during the healing process. His first large bandage comes off tomorrow evening and the smaller Thursday evening.
Then there was my doctor’s visit…I'm tremendously excited. I went to see my specialist yesterday for my thyroid check up & he thinks I'm in remission for my graves disease, which means I'm totally off my Meds for the next couple of months! I see him the end of August to find out if I'm still doing well and in remission!! I said to my doctor; “so eating better & working out made my graves go into remission??” And he said "I dare say!" So to date I’ve lost 25 pounds and really the news yesterday made me want to keep going!!! Last night I did a longer workout because the news was very inspiring!!! In December I felt the worst I ever did in my life because of my Graves Disease now it’s June and with a little effort I feel so much better and no longer need the meds. EXCITING!
I really am pleased with myself!
So, then I went to work for the afternoon while Brad looked after the crew at home. (Thankful Brad came down for the recovery week! I don’t know what I would do without his help!!!)
After I got home I had the fiercest sinus headache I look like I’ve been punched in both eyes. Dark circles and red eyes are not overly attractive JUST SAYING! I love summer but I hate the ACs & fans they kill me!!! Oh and if we are going to hate anything else about summer it’s the bugs…I’m so not a bug person!
